Career Technical Education
what is cte?
Career Technical Education (CTE) provides students of all ages with the academic and technical skills, knowledge, and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become lifelong learners. CTE prepares these learners for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies and making academic content accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context.
a word from our coordinator
Hi, My name is Jennifer Connor, and I am the new Snowline Career Technical Education Coordinator. I would like to take a moment to introduce myself, and thank you for enrolling your kids at Serrano. I graduated from Serrano in 1996, and this is my 21st year working in the district. I truly love our school! I would like to share some news about our amazing CTE programs with you and show you some of the good work that your kids are producing at Serrano. You should be proud of your kids! I know I am!

FREE COLLEGE CREDIT! TRANSFERABLE TO MANY COLLEGES!
Don’t know if your CTE class gets college credit?
Parents take notice!
Serrano High School has established over 20 articulation agreements with Victor Valley College. Within the past few months, your child has been completing the registration for VVC online and completing a step-by-step process to ensure they receive their earned college credit. This process is crucial in order for your student to receive college credit for their particular class. They must pass their CTE class with a “B-” or better in order to receive the college credit. This program is free to all students at Snowline who are enrolled in these specific Career Technical Education classes.
Courses that have been articulated and have an official agreement with Victor Valley College can be viewed on VVC’s website!
Teachers
You must have your articulated final grades submitted to the CTE Office by the second Friday in May. Please use Monday.com to fill in the VVC Articulated Google Sheet. This will require students' VVC ID. You will want to create a system to collect this information from your student.
1. Located on Monday.com
4.Due 2nd Friday and May
Suggestion: Have an assignment in Google Classroom and have all of your students save their VVC email as a PDF (file print, choose PDF as your printer) and upload this PDF to Google Classroom.
