Melissa Sullivan
Hi! I'm Mrs. Sullivan, I have been working with FILM for the last 4 years. I enjoy the students and Colleges. I'm a little sassy and I call it how I see it. My students lovingly call me sassy.
Erica Greer
Hey! I'm Mrs. Greer and I teach all of the media classes in FILM. I’ve been teaching for the last 14 years and this is my 5th year at Serrano! I love watching my students’ creativity and imaginations come to life through graphic design projects like t-shirt and mug designs, short films and commercial projects in video production, and via broadcast news through DTV, but the highlight of every year is working with the 11th graders on the annual FILM Academy Awards (Oscars) to celebrate the achievements of all of our amazing students and showcasing their magnificent projects!

Hi, my name is Saira Francis. I have been here at Serrano since 2013 and have been teaching English with FILM Academy (formerly MMA) since 2015. It has been a joy working with the unique and fun student population of this group and getting to spend time with them outside of school on field trips. In my free time, I like to hang out in nature with my kids or go to the gym.
Karen Myers
I currently teach Geometry and Algebra in the FILM Academy. I have been teaching math for 23 years. I enjoy being part of the Academy. I love seeing students grow and excel in the program.

Hello, I am Mrs. Mahan. Although this is my 22nd year teaching math at Serrano, it is my first year being one of the math teachers in FILM Academy. This year, I teach a mixture of 10th, 11th, and 12th graders within Algebra 2 and Algebra 1 Plus classes. I am so excited to be part of this program and to build meaningful connections with the students.
I have taught Geology and Biology for 19 years at Serrano High School. The reason for biology and geology is because I challenged myself from 1997 - 2000 by earning a Masters degree in Paleoecology, which is the study of ancient Earth environments, which happens to be a fusion of geology and biology. I love to hike and travel, and when I do I love to think about how that particular location has changed over millions of years to become what it is today. Therefore, I am interested in the history of the Earth. I love FILM Academy because I get to share my passion for Earth history with great people, including students and teachers.
